A Washington Weekend, Day 3

We left our hotel this morning, hoping to do several more things before we actually hit the road. On our way out of Alexandria we stopped to take a picture of the George Washington Masonic Memorial, the most prominent and interesting attraction in the city.

I also managed to take a picture of the Christ Church Cathedral, the oldest church in Alexandria.

Next up was the Arlington National Cemetery where we watched the Changing of the Guard Ceremony

We were amazed at the rows and rows of headstones.

 and the Challenger Memorial.

The Kennedy Gravesite was another high point.

Nearby, off the George Washington Parkway in Roslyn, VA, is the Iwo Jima Memorial, the National Marine Corps Memorial, one of the most recognized newspaper photos of all time.                                Iwo Jima Memorial

Finally we went to the National Cathedral for our last stop.
