The adorable medieval village of Cesky Krumlov is located in the southern part of Bohemia, a region of the Czech Republic. It is a delightful village to stroll, small, compact, and well-preserved. Don’t overlook this interesting stop on the way to Prague or while touring through northern Austria.
The oldest part of town is located in the bend of the Vltava River and is, for the most part, vehicle-free, so that walking the cobblestone streets is care-free. There are no mega-sites, except perhaps the Chateau/Castle so the visit is all about the pleasant ambience and the unhindered exploration of a town from long ago.
There are great views of the village as you enter from the parking areas on the outskirts.
There are charming squares
with the Main Square being a wonderful gathering place.
The Castle/Chateau towers over the town and is visible from almost everywhere.
