The world’s first national park is a kaleidoscope of incredible sights. It is the largest geothermal area on the planet and displays a wide variety of thermal features. In addition, Yellowstone has waterfalls, mountains, a gigantic lake, some of the best fishing in the United States, and some of the best wildlife-viewing in the world. Here are some of my favorite sights in my favorite national park.
Of course, Old Faithful, Yellowstone’s most reliable and perhaps most spectacular geyser, is one of the main attractions. Hundreds of people gather around the mound that erupts every hour or so.
One of the most beautiful sights in the park is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, whose multi-colored slopes lead down to the amazing blue-green Yellowstone River. The canyon is made even more spectacular by Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls.
Lower Falls is stunning.
Another colorful sight is Morning Glory Pool.
In the area of the Mammoth Hot Springs are the beautiful and also colorful terraces.
There are other waterfalls in the park as well.
The wildlife is amazing! And you can get so close.
