City Parks Around the World — Eastern Europe

City parks are often focal points for residents and tourists. They offer a respite from the hectic daily activity of a city and a place for solitude and contemplation. They typically provide a tranquil and attractive environment, a place for meeting friends, playing a game, or reading a book. Frequently city parks offer other attractions as well. Many parks feature museums or zoos; others have walking paths or bike trails. Note that many of these locations are featured in walking tours which can be purchased on my website.

Stadtpark, Vienna, Austria — This lovely park which abuts the Inner Ring Road contains tranquil paths and a variety of memorials to important artists associated with Vienna. Our favorite memorial is the one to Johann Strauss II.

Englischer Garten, Munich, Germany — The largest public park in Munich is a popular place for both locals and tourists to congregate. There are miles of walking paths and lots of spots to lounge and relax.
