Leisure activities are an important source of relaxation and stimulation, especially now, in the 21st Century. Just as we adore and pay tribute our heroes and Presidents (see Experience #37), we also worship our sports and entertainment heroes. They are our superstars!
As a consequence of this adoration, Halls of Fame can be found in many places to focus our dedication. Often, these “halls” are found in locations where the sport or activity originated.
My “bucket list” has always included visits to the Basketball, Football, and Baseball Halls of Fame, sports that I love to watch and follow, and, of course, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, since I value music so much.
We have managed to tick these off on my life list over the past twenty years. Here are some reminders of these fabulous places.
The Baseball Hall of Fame is located in Cooperstown, New York, a delightful town west of Albany.
You can find the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts, where James Naismith introduced the sport with a peach basket for a goal.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame is located in Canton, Ohio, where one of the original teams played the sport.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, my favorite, can be found in Cleveland, Ohio. We took our grandson, David.
Here is the entrance (photos are not allowed inside).
