I will be interrupting my “cancer journey” with snippets from our road trip to Florida and Tennessee, thus reverting back to the original intent of this website — a travel blog. First, I will highlight some of the places we experienced in and around Englewood and Naples, our first two destinations on our road trip. In a sense this trip is still part of “my cancer journey” since that phrase includes the rest of my life. In addition, the trip was inspired by my fight with cancer and my desire to attend to my “bucket list.”
We spent several days in Englewood, reminiscing and reconnecting with dear friends, checking out the beautiful beaches.
We explored the nearby community of Venice, stopping briefly on Venice Avenue for a photo-op
We also drove to Sarasota, a charming city. I was most impressed with it’s public Art, especially the sculpture of the famous “Victory Kiss” commemorating the end of World War II.
