Although the climate of Massachusetts prevents the display of tropical and sub-tropical botanical specimens, several gardens have managed to develop a following of patrons and have become popular attractions for plant-lovers. The Bridge of Flowers, in Shelburne Falls, entices visitors with its uniqueness: an old bridge, no longer used for transportation, is planted with shrubs and flowers for its entire length.
Other popular gardens can be found just outside Worcester. Tower Hill features several attractive displays of succulents.
Some of the displays in these gardens are even more colorful and showcase annuals.
