Why Go to Aarhus?

Every tourist destination has it’s attractions. However, because every tourist is different, these attractions have greater or lesser value. In this series Gary’s gives his reasons for traveling to a particular place. Hopefully some of his thoughts will entice you to consider adding this particular place to your itinerary. Aarhus is located in the northeastern part of Jutland, the main peninsula of Denmark. Its Old Town is pleasant to walk around in and there areĀ several attractions that make it worthwhile to travelers. Consider adding Aarhus to your Danish itinerary for at least the following reasons:

1. The Viking Museum of Aarhus is fascinating andĀ FREE to visitors. It contains a well-preserved skeleton of a Viking, among other artifacts.

2. The Aarhus Cathedral dominates the Old Town.

3. Quaint little lanes of flower-bedecked homes are a common feature in this interesting town.
