Bisected by the Danube River, the city of Budapest has two distinct parts, the Buda hills which are dominated by Buda Castle, and the rather flat village of Pest. Come to Budapest whenever you explore central Europe for at least the following reasons:
1. Buda Castle sits prominently above Pest, across the Danube.
2. The major link between Buda and Pest is the lovely Chain Bridge.
3. Dramatically situated along the Danube is Hungary’s Parliament, one of the most exquisite buildings in Eastern Europe.
4. One of the unique attractions in the Buda Hills is the Fisherman’s Bastion, a dramatic elevated walk above the Danube in Budapest.
