Siena Italy is a classic “Hill Town” in Tuscany. Once a worthy rival of Florence, Siena Italy has mellowed over the years, while becoming an important tourist stop. Be sure to include Siena Italy in your Tuscan vacation for at least the following reasons:
1. All life in Siena revolves around the Piazza del Campo, still used as a horse-racing track twice each year.
2. The most significant building on Siena’s main square is the Palazzo Pubblico, the City Hall.
3. Siena’s Cathedral (Duomo) is both glorious and huge.
4. The narrow streets of this hill town are pleasant to walk.
