This is our last true day of sightseeing. We began the day with a lovely ride along Utah Rte 128, also known as the Centennial Highway from Moab to Interstate 70 near the Colorado state line. The road traverses the Colorado Riverway and is extremely scenic.  In Fruita, CO, we entered the Colorado National Monument, another kaleidoscope of colorful canyons and dramatic rock formations. We traveled the entire length of Rim Rock Drive from Fruita to Grand Junction, stopping at numerous overlooks.

    A bit further down the road, we spent some time at Independence Monument View, with its tall monolith.

     Our next major overlook was Monument Canyon View, which looks out over Monument Canyon, one of the three main canyons of the park.

     The last stop was at Ute Canyon, another of the beautiful places in the park.

     We were supposed to end our sightseeing day at Dinosaur National Monument. Unfortunately, we forgot something in Moab and had to return to the hotel there, eliminating our visit to Dinosaur. However, Sam & the rest of the kids were able to go and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience..
