My Personal Cancer Journey — a Plethora of Pills

Prior to my cancer, I was taking three (3) prescription drugs, one for blood pressure, one for cholesterol, and one for GERD (even though I never have symptoms). Now things are very different:

1. I have a Fentanyl patch which is used to deliver pain medication constantly

2. I take Gabapentin every six hours or so, which is used to relieve neuropathic pain

3. I also take Oxycodone (Percocet) 3-4 times per day for pain

4. Finally, there is the chemo pill itself, Tarceva, which I take each morning when I get up.

So my daily meds have more than doubled — yikes!
