My Personal Cancer Journey — Reality Bites

Well, it was too good to be true that there would be no side-effects from my new chemotherapy cocktail. Reality reared its ugly head last night and I experienced one of the common side-effects of the Abraxane, joint pain. It kept me awake much of the night, moving from joint to joint, in no pattern. It might start in the right ankle, last for 10-15 seconds, then disappear, only to surface again in the left knee, or the left elbow. It was very annoying, not debilitating but not to be ignored.

My goal today is to find something that at least eases the pain so that I don’t have another sleepless night like last night. I’ll begin with Ibuprofen and then move onto to stronger stuff. What would cancer be without pain?
