Frank Herbert made this profound observation:
"Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken."
What I believe Mr Herbert is saying, is that stimulation is extremely important for our minds and bodies to function properly. Not that we have to have constant stimulation, but new sights and sounds are always energizing, enabling us to develop our minds and to learn new things. Stagnancy retards our growth and self-realization. So, get out there and get involved; be a participant not a passive observer, both to extend your life and make your life more enjoyable. With regard to travel, this quote obviously tells us to continue to visit new places and do different things, for as long as we can.
