Travel Quotation 39 – Peter Hoeg

Well known Danish writer, Peter Hoeg, once wrote,

"Traveling tends to magnify all human emotions."

This quote expresses something that travelers often experience, a heightening of the senses when in a new place. It perhaps explains why travel chronicles frequently use superlatives when describing destinations or activities. Physiologically, it may be due to the increased production and release of adrenaline, the flight-or-flight hormone, which heightens the bodies responses. Whatever the mechanism, I totally concur with the author and look forward to more stimulations, soon.
