Travel Quotation 54 – Henry David Thoreau

Famous American philosopher and essayist, Thoreau, once wrote,

"Only that traveling is good which reveals to me the value of home and enables me to enjoy it better."

It appears that Thoreau did not particularly care for travel, except as a vehicle to understand and appreciate what he has. While I concur that often travel makes us appreciate our home more, I don’t think this is the major reason for travel. To me, there are so many more benefits to be derived.
