Travel Quotation 79 — Regina Nadelson

Author of “Biography of a Revolutionary,” a book about Angela Davis, Regina Nadelson also had things to say about travel. Here are her words: “Most travel is best of all in the anticipation or the remembering; the reality has more to do with losing your luggage.”

I’m sure we all feel this way from time to time: that the joy and excitement we experienced prior to a trip is anticlimatic and that the trip itself doesn’t live up to the hype. However, Ms Nadelson is too cynical for me. I think we can move beyond petty irritations like lost luggage and still enjoy some aspects of even a disappointing vacation..
