1701 AD — King Frederick I establishes the Prussian Empire.

1708 AD — St Paul’s Cathedral is completed in London, England. It remains the crowning achievement of Sir Christopher Wren who basically rebuilt London after its devastating fire of 1666. 1713 AD — The Old State House was constructed in Boston, Massachusetts. 1718 AD — The city of New Orleans is founded by France.
1718 AD — The Alamo Mission*, Mission San Antonio de Valero, was built by the Spanish and became the foundation of the city of San Antonio, Texas. 1720 AD — Louisbourg Fortress* was constructed in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. It was one of the most extensive fortifications in the New World. 1740 AD — Schonbrunn Palace* takes its modern form as improvements are made to the property by Maria Teresa. The palace rivals Versailles in both size and opulence.
