Montana is another state where Lee & I have limited experience. We spent some time in Glacier National Park, certainly the state’s premier attraction, but that is all.
The park is fantastic, with great mountain scenery and a fabulous scenic drive across the park, known as Going-to-the-Sun Road. Here is the scene at St Mary’s Lake, at one end of the park.
Below is another vista, taken along Going-to-the-Sun Road.
The plant in the foreground is known as Beargrass and is a common feature in the park.
The park is the first example of a cooperative venture between two countries, Canada and the US, to preserve national treasures. The combined entity is actually known as Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park and is composed of Glacier National Park in the US and Waterton Lakes National Park in nearby Alberta, Canada.
What a great concept!.
