These intertwined parks, in southeastern California, feature some of the largest living things on the planet, the Giant Sequoia trees. Between the two parks, there are several substantial groves of these behemoths.
In Sequoia National Park, you will find numero uno, the largest of them all, the General Sherman tree which has been growing since before Jesus Christ walked the streets of Jerusalem.
Kings Canyon NP features the General Grant Tree, another of these giants which are accessible along the General’s Highway, a beautiful scenic drive which cuts through both parks.
