Best of the Treasure Coast

This section of Florida’s long coastline begins around Palm Beach and extends south through Boca Raton. It is one of the most popular parts of Florida for retirees, snowbirds, and vacationers. The beaches are marvelous, extending for miles and miles. Some of the homes along the water are spectacular, especially in the city of Palm Beach.

Our favorite part of the Treasure Coast is Delray Beach, since we have stayed here for several months during the winter. The downtown area is quaint, full of shops and restaurants, and pleasant to stroll; the library is absolutely first-rate; and the beach is fantastic. There are plenty of golfing opportunities nearby, as well.

The only true, noteworthy tourist attraction in this part of Florida is Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, in the western part of the city. Here, solitude and reflection reign supreme, as in all Eastern gardens. The extensive gardens display different types of Japanese gardens, some with plants and some without.
