Gardens of the World — Eastern Canada

Canada, with its frigid and long winters, is not a particularly hospitable place for gardens. However, we have discovered some delightful gardens in our many explorations of this region. One of the most memorable was in Nova Scotia. The Annapolis Royal gardens, although fairly small and intimate, were wonderful to stroll through.

One would expect that a major city like Montreal would offer a tremendous variety of activities and venues to attract and delight tourists. And it does. One of the most popular destinations within the city is the Montreal Botanical Gardens, a huge complex with numerous walking trails and an immense variety of specimens.

There are even Japanese Gardens within the complex, with flowing water and architectural highlights.
