Many gardens around the world are associated with the palatial estates of the rich and famous. France has a plethora of these palaces, so we were not surprised to find many beautiful gardens in our travels through France.
For example, in Paris, the Luxembourg Palace features one of the most tranquil and lovely gardens that we have seen. I can recall sitting and people-watching within the gardens, since this place is a popular retreat for locals and tourists alike.
Just outside of Paris, Versailles sports elaborate and very formal gardens, in keeping with its reputation as the epitome of grand palaces.
In a real surprise, we found a extensive and beautiful cactus gardens in the French Riviera town of Eze.
