Across the Potomac River from Washington DC, Arlington VA deserves the attention of any tourists in the region because of several notable and not-to-be-missed attractions. Include Arlington VA on your Washington DC itinerary for at least the following reasons:
1. Arlington Memorial Cemetery is the final resting place of many of America’s notable military men and women. It also contains the graves of President John F Kennedy, and his brothers Bobby, and Ted.
The Changing of the Guard Ceremony, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery is extremely solemn and moving.
Visitors are amazed by the symmetrical rows and rows of crosses representing the graves of US military.
2. Also in Arlington VA is the Marine Corps Memorial, a bronze statue of the iconic “Raising the Flag over Iwo Jima.”
