Hidden Travel Gems of Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s most spectacular attraction is the view from Victoria Peak, the mountain above the city. The view encompasses the city skyline and its beautiful harbor. However, there are other places in Hong Kong which are a delight to tourists, and which I call “hidden travel gems.” These should be included in any traveler”s itinerary when visiting this cosmopolitan urban area.

Aberdeen Floating Village — This neighborhood of the city has includes a community of residents who live entirely on boats. These boats are equipped with everything a family needs in order to survive.

Stanley — Another Hong Kong neighborhood is known primarily for its shopping.

Po Lin Monastery & Buddha — This huge statue of Buddha can be accessed by climbing over 200 stairs. It is certainly worth the effort.

Man Mo Temple — This Buddhist temple is dedicated to a pair of gods associated with the civil and the martial. It is noted for its abundance of incense rings.

Avenue of Stars — Hong Kong’s version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame commemorates the city significant film industry and its stars. The walk can be found along the Kowloon waterfront.
