Several days ago, I posted about another cancer diagnosis that I received from my dermatologist, just after I learned about my lung cancer — at the time, I was told that this superficial skin cancer was Bowen’s Disease, and I joked about it. Well, I received another phone call concerning this cancer that is NO JOKE!
My dermatologist called to tell me that I had “good news and bad news.” It seems that I have heard this expression before it was really all bad. Anyway, she told me that what she thought was Bowen’s Disease is really Amelanotic Melanoma, a much more dangerous skin cancer. Can you believe this? She was have the section of skin removed surgically as soon as possible. Granted, it is Stage 1A — we got it early — but imagine two potentially fatal cancers, unrelated we believe, in a span of three weeks!
