Now that I have returned from my Scandinavian Cruise, I went to my dermatologist to have another biopsy, this time of a suspicious lesion on my right upper arm — the other melanoma was on my left upper arm. It was discovered before the trip, but my doctor felt that we should wait until afterward to do the biopsy.
She took a good swath of tissue, with a punch, and will have it analyzed in the next week or two. They will call with the good or bad news. If it is, in fact, another melanoma, I will probably have to have it surgically removed. Then I will have matching scars on my right and left arms. Isn’t that special?
