This one is hard to believe! So, I had my annual appointment with my Dermatologist. Having had a Basal Cell Carcinoma on my scalp in 2000, I have had annual check-ups just to be sure that there is no re-occurrence. The appointment was on Monday, January 28th.
There was a strange, circular patch of cells on my upper arm which my Dermatologist froze last year. When she saw that it was still here, she looked closer and declared that she was pretty sure that I have Bowen’s Disease, a superficial epidermal carcinoma. She ended up doing a biopsy just to confirm and scheduled my appointment for next year.
Imagine! I have another cancer besides the lung cancer. I don’t think this one will kill me and it is certainly nothing to worry about in the near future, but how ironic — two cancer diagnoses within a period of less than three weeks.
