Our last day at Saratoga Springs Racetrack was delightfully sunny and cool, but our luck also cooled off. Only one of our troop ended up winning for the entire weekend and it was not yours truly. I did not hit a single exacta and quickly lost my winnings from the previous two days, and then continued losing. Lee & I both finished the weekend down about $50 — not bad for an entertaining three days.
We’ll licks our wounds and probably return next year to give it another try. This was the 150th anniversary of racing at the Spa, reflected in the welcome circle at the base of Union Avenue.
Here is another sample of the gorgeous architecture to be found along Union Avenue.
