Now that Boston (right down the road from us) was being considered, albeit for a short time, for the 2024 Olympics, for the first time I might add, let’s take a look at the places where the Olympics have been held over the years.

1912 Summer Olympics — The Olympics this year were held in Stockholm, Sweden, from May 5th to July 27th. Jim Thorpe won the Pentathlon as well as the newly created Decathlon. However, he was stripped of his medals for violating the rules of amateurism (he played two years of semi-pro baseball). The medals were later (1982) restored and replicas were awarded to his relatives (Thorpe had died 30 years earlier).
