Spotlight on the Olympics — Summer 1920

Now that Boston (right down the road from us) was being considered, albeit for a short time,  for the 2024 Olympics, for the first time I might add, let’s take a look at the places where the Olympics have been held over the years.

1920 Summer Olympics — The Sixth Olympiad should have been held in 1916. They were actually awarded to Berlin. However, World War I intervened and no Olympics were held in that year. The next Olympics (VII) were held in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1920. They began on August 14th and ended on September 12th. These Olympics actually featured a week of winter sports, including figure skating and ice hockey. The United States won the medal count with 45, 41 of which were gold.
