Now that Boston (right down the road from us) was being considered, albeit for a short time, for the 2024 Olympics, for the first time I might add, let’s take a look at the places where the Olympics have been held over the years.
1924 Summer Olympics — The Olympics this year were held in Paris, France, for the second time in 25 years. If you are familiar with the movie, Chariots of Fire, the stories of the two (2) British runners, Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell, were depicted in the movie. They won the 100 meter and 400 meter respectively at this Olympics. Johnny Weissmuller of the US won three (3) gold medals in swimming. These Olympics began on May 4th and concluded on July 27th. The United States won the most medals, 99 (45 were gold).
