The Roman writer, Horace, once stated,
"They change their climate, not their soul, who rush across the sea."
This quote seems to be about emigration, rather than vacation travel, but I suppose it is probably true about all travel. You can change your environment, but you cannot change the essence of the person. Actually, I disagree with the statement in that I believe that travel can change your outlook, your perspective, and ultimately your personality, but the changes are often subtle and take many years. Some people, of course, will never change. They are entrenched in their own persona and are not open-minded at all.
