Travel Quotation 31 – Mark Twain

The famous American humorist Mark Twain, who has many memorable quotes, once wrote.

"I have found that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people of hate them than to travel with them."

Isn’t this incredibly true?!!  There are people in my life with whom I would never travel again, because their idiosyncracies, and we all have them, really grate on me. There seems to be something about travel that brings out the true nature of people and exposes that nature for all to see. For instance, negativity day after day can erode the best friendships; inconsiderate people wear you down; requests that become demands and obligations cause resentment. Groups, even small ones, can become extremely difficult to tolerate, over time.
