Much of our last day on the Equinox was spent packing — Ugh! The return is always bittersweet since we typically yearn to be home again but we hate to see a wonderful trip end. I loved this trip because the itinerary was particularly special — we saw so many unusual ports of call in such a short amount of time. I will review the trip in a later post and report on our group’s likes and dislikes. I plan to also give my own review of Celebrity Cruise Line and their ship, the Equinox, as well.
As far as today is concerned, besides packing we tried to finish with a flourish — do some splurges or repeat some of the things that we liked best. For instance, we made sure we spent an entire hour at the Passport Lounge “Happy Hour” — we discovered this early in the cruise and became regulars — so regular that several of the waiters knew us by name and brought us our drinks before we even asked them. The entertainment during Happy Hour was Justin Wade, one of our favorite performers on the ship.
We finally sampled the ship’s gelato today. We’ve been planning to do this for days but put it off until our last day. It was delicious. We checked out the photo gallery and chose one picture to purchase as a keepsake from the cruise. We also said “goodbye” to many of the staff that we have come to know and spent a lot of time discussing the pros and cons of the trip. It seems that everyone in our group has fond memories of Celebrity and this cruise and would certainly not hesitate to sail with Celebrity, especially on this ship, again.
